Doctors of Physical Therapy are highly qualified and skilled health care practitioners. They have a long education before practicing in the clinic and seeing patients. We are able to see direct access patients. Direct access means you can come to us without a script from your doctor.
Some may not know that physical therapists are doctorate level practitioners. This means we are fully capable of finding the cause of your pain and making a plan to help you through it.
Physical Therapy and Direct Access
To become a physical therapist, one must first earn their bachelor’s degree. After earning their undergraduate degree, they must earn a position in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. There, they learn how to effectively identify, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of diagnoses that may come through our clinic doors.
After all of our schooling is complete to earn our Doctorate of Physical Therapy, the work is still not done. We then must take a national licensing board exam to become licensed practitioners in our state. We also need to pass any background checks, certification, and other requirements before being licensed.
